Vegetables:
1. Vegetables are rich in fiber. Fiber absorbs all the toxins, unwanted material and harmful fats from the intestine and flushes them out of the system.2. A diet rich in vegetables is also low in calories. Dieticians recommend overweight and obese people to include a lot of raw vegetables and leafy greens in their diet.
3. A rainbow diet refers to the inclusion of vegetables of all colors in your daily diet. Each color has its own set of benefits to offer, and including them all in your diet can provide balanced and complete nutrition.
4. Cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, and other leafy greens have high sulfur content. Including these in your diet, can minimize or even prevent the onset of many degenerative diseases such as cancer.
5. Fresh, colorful vegetables can provide a balanced intake of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.
6. Vegetables improve the hair, skin and nail health. They also boost immunity, enabling your body to fight diseases and infections.
7. All the colorful green, yellow, and orange vegetables are a rich source of vitamin A, B-complex, C and K, calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, and beta-carotene.
8. Vegetables contain soluble and insoluble dietary fiber (non-starch polysaccharides such as cellulose, pectin, gums etc.). These act as powerful absorbents and absorb the excess water present in the colon, thereby retaining a large amount of moisture in the fecal matter and allowing for the easy passage of waste from the body. This can prevent many painful diseases such as rectal fissures, hemorrhoids, and chronic constipation.

3. Fruits are the richest source of antioxidants such as flavonoids, Vitamin C, anthocyanin’s. These compounds protect the cells of the body against oxidant (free radical) stress, thus offering protection against many diseases and infections. They also boost natural immunity, making it easier for the body to fight various ailments. As compared to vegetables, fruits have a higher oxygen radical absorbent capacity.
4. Anthocyanin’s is in fruits which are poly-phenolic compounds in blue or deep purple colored fruits such as acai berry, mulberry, blueberry, blackberry, black grapes, and other such fruits.
5. The rich content of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants in fruits can reverse the aging process by protecting and rejuvenating the cells, tissues and other organs against oxidative damage caused by free radicals. It can offer protection from ordinary skin problems and hair fall to serious ailments such as memory loss, colon cancer, and osteoporosis.
